At FridgeChef, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience on our platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
FridgeChef uses your device's camera to capture photos of ingredients for analysis. When you use the ingredient scanning feature, photos are sent to Supabase Edge Functions and processed by Google Gemini AI to detect ingredients and generate recipes.
We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. You can choose to create an account using anonymous authentication, which means you can use FridgeChef without providing personally identifiable information. If you create an account, we collect information you voluntarily provide, such as an email address (optional).
The following information is collected and stored in Supabase:
Subscription and billing information is managed through RevenueCat, which integrates with the Apple App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment information—RevenueCat and Apple handle all billing transactions securely. We only receive information about your subscription status and plan type.

FridgeChef supports anonymous authentication through Supabase, allowing you to use the app without creating an account or providing personal information. With anonymous authentication, your data is associated with a unique identifier rather than personally identifiable information. You can upgrade to a full account at any time by providing an email address.
Account Deletion: You can delete your FridgeChef account at any time by requesting account deletion through the app settings or by contacting us at support@fridgechef.app. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information from our Supabase database, including your account details, saved recipes, and scan history.
Data Retention: We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service. After you delete your account, we will remove your information within 30 days, except where required by law or for legitimate business purposes. Ingredient scanning images are processed in real-time by Google Gemini and are not stored permanently in our systems.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Supabase provides encryption for data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of FridgeChef after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
